The Moore County Library System participates in the national Interlibrary Loan (ILL) program that permits the library to borrow books for its patrons from other libraries across the United States.
Any Moore County Library System established patron in good standing may present their library card and request a book by Interlibrary Loan (ILL) free of charge. If we do not have a book that a patron requests, we can request to borrow the book from another library, which is then mailed to us. Any ILL book borrowed will be checked out and returned to the same Moore County Library location.
Requests for new materials through Interlibrary Loan are usually denied. Most libraries begin to lend materials after their patrons have had first access.
The library may restrict the number of items requested by an individual or meter the number of items referred through Interlibrary Loan when necessary to ensure fair, equitable and timely service, within the constraints of budget and staffing.
Patrons are responsible for all fees or charges for overdue, damaged or lost books. Patrons are also responsible for any fees or charges incurred when the book is not picked up.
Libraries or patrons who fail to return books or give restitution for lost or damaged books may be denied library services.
