MOORE COUNTY LIBRARY SYSTEM LIBRARY CARD POLICIES
New card
- must present a valid US photo identification* containing applicant’s name
- must present a piece of mail showing their name with their Moore County address which has been postmarked by the US Postal Service within the last 30 days
- must complete an application
- residents and property owners of Moore County are issued a library card free of charge
- replacement cards are $2.00
- will only be allowed to checkout four (4) items total for the first six (6) months
- after six (6) months patrons will be established patrons who are allowed to checkout twelve (12) books, six (6) audiobooks and four (4) DVDS or BLURAYS, request Interlibrary Loans and be issued a TexShare card
Student card
- parent or legal guardian must also have a current Moore County Library card
- parent or legal guardian must present a valid US photo identification* containing parent or legal guardian’s name
- parent or legal guardian must present a piece of mail showing parent or legal guardian’s name with their Moore County address which has been postmarked by the US Postal Service within the last 30 days
- parent or legal guardian must complete an application giving student permission to use public library
- replacement cards are $2.00
- students will only be allowed to checkout juvenile or youth items on their card
- will be allowed to checkout twelve (12) books, six (6) audiobooks and four (4) DVDS or BLURAYS and request Interlibrary Loans
Harrington Library Consortium card
- must have current privileges from home library
- if card holder’s account has fines, fees, or other charges $2.00 and over at any Harrington Library Consortium library they will NOT be allowed to checkout at Moore County Libraries until their account has been taken care of where the fines are owed
- will be allowed to checkout twelve (12) books, six (6) audiobooks and four (4) DVDS or BLURAYS and will NOT be able to request Interlibrary Loans
TexShare card
- must present a valid US photo identification* with the same name as the TexShare card
- must present a valid TexShare card from their home library
- will be allowed to checkout four (4) items total and will NOT be allowed to request Interlibrary Loans
Non-permanent, temporary, or out-of-state card
- must present a valid US photo identification* containing applicant’s name and their permanent home address
- must present a piece of mail showing their name with their temporary Moore County address which has been postmarked by the US Postal Service within the last 30 days
- must complete an application
- will be charged a onetime $10.00 fee
- replacement cards are $2.00
- will be allowed to checkout four (4) items total and will NOT be allowed to request Interlibrary Loans or a TexShare card
*Forms of valid US photo identification are Driver’s License issued from any US State, Federal or State Identification cards, Military card, Passport issued by the US.
Household address grouping
- patrons are grouped within the computer system according to household address
- limited to eight (8) DVDS or BLURAYS per household
- if any card within the group has a fine the entire group is blocked
Please be advised
- library cards can only be used by the card holder
- patrons are responsible for the items checked out on their card and all fines incurred
- please make us aware of any address or phone number changes
- if your library card is lost or stolen, please contact the library right away
- patrons with fines $2.00 and over are blocked from borrowing and using public access computers
- library cards expire once a year
- card renewals must be made in person by completing an updated application
